Pop Upright Shakespeare: Richard III
Jan

Pop Upright Shakespeare: Richard III

Supplementing our regular season, Pop-Upright Shakespeare performances are one-off, stripped-down performances of classics from the Bard’s canon. Landing as a mid-point between our fully-produced mainstage shows and monthly Shakespeare Allowed reading sessions, periodic Pop-Upright events feature Nashville’s top theatre talent performing a staged reading in a casual atmosphere and non-traditional venue.

Actors will perform Shakespeare's RICHARD III with book in hand. This "Pop-Upright" approach makes for a lively and exciting way to experience the play. As charming as he is ruthless, Richard of Gloucester - the last prince of York in line for the throne - schemes, manipulates and murders his way to a brief and eventful rule. This Pop-Upright performance is a perfect pairing with our staged reading of The African Company Presents Richard III in February 2024!
