Mission

The mission of the Nashville Shakespeare Festival is to educate and entertain the Mid-South community through professional theatrical experiences.

For over three decades, we have built a reputation for producing engaging theatre experiences with modern perspectives that create indelible memories for all ages. From our annual Summer Shakespeare series, which draws thousands of spectators every summer season, to our year-round educational programs that introduce students of all ages to the world of Shakespeare, we remain committed to setting the community standard of excellence in educational outreach and performance.

Season Performances

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival offers performances all year round! Our flagship Summer Shakespeare performances have been free for the community for over 35 years. In addition, we offer indoor productions in the winter and spring in collaboration with local universities, Pop-Upright Shakespeare performances, staged readings, and opportunities to read all of Shakespeare’s works through our Shakespeare Allowed! program at the Nashville Public Library and Room In The Inn.

Education

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival seeks to bring Shakespeare's works alive for all learners through the art of performance. We believe that by exploring Shakespeare through the voice and body, students of all types can discover the Bard's power and relevance in their own lives. Educational tools offered by the Festival include student matinee productions, in-classroom interactive workshops, directing residencies, educator guidebooks, and Apprentice Company training.
