NSF Online Productions
The Nashville Shakespeare Festival brings professional film adaptations of Shakespeare’s works directly to classrooms and communities through NSF Online Productions. These engaging, high-quality films are available to stream for free with registration, and optional workshops are available for an additional fee (free for Title I schools).
Each production is designed to be accessible, educational, and entertaining featuring Nashville-based artists and creative teams who make Shakespeare’s language come alive for all audiences.
Julius Caesar - new!
In Julius Caesar, five actors tackle the captivating journey of Shakespeare's political thriller - the conspiracy against Caesar, his assassination and the defeat of his conspirators. Concerned that Julius Caesar poses a threat to democracy, revolutionaries make the violent decision to murder him. As the world spins out of control, chaos and superstition lead to civil war. This adapted production showcases themes of honor, friendship, ambition, power, loyalty, betrayal, freedom and fate.
Recommended Grades: 7th grade and up

Macbeth - new!
Produced in collaboration with Nashville PBS, five actors tackle the captivating journey of a man and his wife as they navigate a powerful prophecy and strive to achieve a position of utmost power, no matter the consequence. This abridged, hour-long production features a full musical score and sword fighting and demonstrates the lasting lessons and power within Shakespeare’s poetry. This Nashville PBS Artsbreak Special was filmed as a part of the 2024 Shakespeare Education Tour.

Romeo & Juliet
This 75-minute video is a 5-actor rendition of Shakespeare’s timeless classic Romeo & Juliet and is presented in 24 short scene segments, and emphasizes the language, characters, and story. Characters tell the enduring story of two young people caught in an ugly family feud. The language is all Shakespeare’s, and the relevance is immediate.
