About the Show
Play by Lauren M. Gunderson and Casey M. Murphy
Directed by Evren Odcikin
Christmas, 1598. A fierce winter storm strands William Shakespeare and a young actor at a countryside inn, where the last thing anyone wants is an unexpected guest, much less England's most famous playwright.
As the snow piles up, so do the complications. Between holiday mischief, budding romance, family tensions, and a healthy dose of Shakespearean wit, an unlikely gathering discovers that even in the darkest season, there's room for laughter, love, and new beginnings.
Join the Nashville Shakespeare Festival for a special workshop reading of Christmastide, a new play in development by Lauren M. Gunderson and Casey M. Murphy. With scripts in hand and the story still taking shape, these readings offer a glimpse into the creative process of bringing a new work to the stage. Be among the first to experience this heartwarming and humorous story about the people, places, and unexpected moments that inspire us to begin again.
