Nashville Shakes Welcomes New Managing Director
Nashville- The Board of Directors of The Nashville Shakespeare Festival is pleased to announce that Bradley Brown will join the staff as Managing Director. Mr. Brown will work in tandem with NSF’s Executive Artistic Director, Denice Hicks, to launch the company into a new phase of growth after its 30th anniversary season. The Managing Director will be responsible for the administrative and operational management of the Festival and will oversee the departments of Marketing, Development, and Accounting.
Over the last decade, Brown has been an award-winning educator, leading theatre programs at Hillsboro IB World School and Page Middle School. He was awarded PTSO Educator of the Year at Hillsboro for the 2012-2013 school year, as well as HHS Teacher of the Year in 2013-2014. In 2013, he was awarded the English Speaking Union Shakespeare Educator Fellowship Award in 2011, affording him the opportunity to train at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
Brown graduated magna cum laude from Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. in marketing. During his time at TTU, he won several accolades, including competitive scholarships from the Nashville Advertising Federation. Brown also has an MFA in Acting from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
He brings years of professional theater experience with him, including performances for the Nashville Shakespeare Festival in The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and A Comedy of Errors. He has also been a teaching artist, musician, and assistant stage manager for NSF, and has worked as an actor for Blackbird Theatre and Springhouse Theater in Tennessee, Seaside Repertory Theatre in Florida, and Triad Stage (including two world premiere productions) and the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, in North Carolina.
Brown said, “I am thrilled to be joining Nashville Shakespeare Festival. I have had the pleasure of working with NSF in a multitude of roles, and I am looking forward to working with everyone, especially Denice, in helping the Festival's continued growth in the Mid-South, both in programming and educational outreach. It's an exciting time to be at NSF.”

The Nashville Shakespeare Festival provides the region with high-quality professional theater and stellar educational programming that brings Shakespeare alive for audiences and for thousands of students. This year’s Winter Shakespeare is Julius Caesar, directed by Santiago Sosa and featuring Broadway’s Chuck Wagner in the title role.
