Shakespeare in the Park 2018 -

Thurs. Feb 22, 6 – 10pm
Fri. Feb 23, 6 – 10pm
Sat. Feb 24, 10am – 6pm
Midsummer- Sunday, March 4, 12-9:15pm, Caesar- Sunday March 11, 1-6:00pm


Prepare one Shakespearean monologue up to 2 minutes in length. If you are auditioning for Midsummer or the Apprentice Company, we also ask that you sing a song less than a minute long. Please provide your own accompaniment (live instrument if possible or recorded accompaniment) or sing a cappella.  Also, please bring 2 copies of your headshot and resume.

Rehearsals begin: July 9, 5p-10p
Apprentice/Journeyman Company training starts July 8, 12:30-8:30p
Training is 12-4p, 
Mondays-Fridays // Rehearsals are 5-10p, every day Mondays-Saturdays

Apprentice Company is a professional development training program, first and foremost, where the training will continue throughout all of rehearsals and the run of the show. This rigorous program is a full 8 hour day, including rehearsals. Roles will not be revealed till the first day of ApCo training. The Journeyman program is for any student that has completed the apprentice company or similar training with the apprentice company director, Santiago Sosa. Apprentice Company Tuition is $600 (Scholarships available)
Journeyman Tuition is $300

Auditions will be held at Nashville Public Television, 161 Rains Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203

  • Full and fair casting consideration will be given to ethnic minorities, women, seniors, and actors with disabilities.
  • ALL ACTORS MUST HAVE LOCAL HOUSING.  The Nashville Shakespeare Festival does not have housing for out-of-town actors.
  •  If you cannot attend in person, video auditions are only acceptable if you can be available for callbacks. Anyone auditioning via video submission will need to fill out the following forms (ApCo form if applicable). Submit your video links and completed audition forms to videosubmission@nashvilleshakes.org (Please do not send video files. Upload your video to a sharing service like YouTube, and send a link. Video submission deadline: Feb 19)
