Accused of being boring, confusing and irrelevant, William Shakespeare must defend his place in the contemporary classroom and culture. You are the jury in this 21st Century courtroom where Mr. Shakespeare must bring all of his wit, wisdom and theatrical magic to bear in the fight for his artistic life. Referencing 27 of Shakespeare’s plays in all, Shakespeare's Case is a humorous and informative introduction to Shakespeare's works for all ages, as well as a delight for those who already love the Bard. Join The Nashville Shakespeare Festival for its fourth annual Winter Shakespeare production at Troutt Theater.
Shakespeare's Case runs 1 hour and 15 minutes. Public shows include a 30-minute opening act by magician Jason Michaels and a brief intermission, for a total of 1 hour and 55 minutes.
This production is funded in part by the Metro Nashville Arts Commission and the Tennessee Arts Commission.

Winner of international awards and star of multiple TV shows Jason Michaels is no ordinary magician, he combines an acting background with intense magic to create a show that is lively and breath-taking. To quote him: "Magic can and should have the same impact that a song, a play, or a piece of art has. I want my audiences to experience a roller coaster of emotions-fun, laughter, tension, reflection, awe, and guaranteed excitement." Jason is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and The Society of American Magicians. He has opened for Tony Orlando and wowed many celebrities.
